	Fall 2008 Registration starts May 5 All NEW Players Must Register by Mail or In-Person (Options 2 & 3) For additional details regarding LJSC registration, including fee information and the registration calendar, go to the FORMS page and download the 2008 Registration Fees & Calendar document. REGISTRATION OPTIONS: 1. For returning 2007 LJSC players paying by credit card: LJ Online Registration: www.stx-ljsc.affinitysoccer.com If you have forgotten your Username and Password, you can access your account using information from registration last year. Convenient – no waiting in line and available 24 hours/day Enter your family information one time even if registering multiple players. Use the on-line system to keep your contact info up-to-date, re-register in future years without re-entering all your data, view team information and game schedules ALL ADULTS registering (coaches, assistant coaches, referees, and other volunteers) must register using the on-line system. 2. Mail-In Registration Go to the FORMS page and download the 2008 registration form. Fill out the form completely and return it by mail following the instructions on the form. § U7 and Up registrations postmarked after Saturday, May 31, 2008 will incur a $30 late fee for each player registering § U7 and Up registrations postmarked after Friday, July 18, 2008 will not be accepted § Incomplete registrations (e.g. incorrect payment, missing proof of age documentation for new players, etc.) will not be accepted. A reasonable attempt to contact the parent/guardian will be made by a member of the LJSC registration committee. Failure to supply the missing information by the deadlines above will subject the registration to the applicable late fee or rejection. Payment forms accepted for mail-in registration are check or money order. Credit cards are not accepted. 3. In-person Registration In-person registration will be held at the Lake Jackson Rec Center on Friday, May 16, 2008 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 17 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Payment forms for in-person registration are check or cash. Credit cards are not accepted. Registration Frequently Asked Questions Ages Q: How old does my child have to be to play soccer? A: The child’s age on July 31 of the current year determines their soccer age. They must be four years old or older as of July 31. No one over 18 years old can be registered. Q: How are the teams grouped by age? A: Groups are of the form “Under x” where x is the soccer age. For example, eight-year olds play in the U9 (Under 9) group. The youngest group is U6 for four and five year olds. Q: Can my child play in a group older than their soccer age? A: Yes, with a signed “play-up form” the child can play in an older group. Q: Can my child play in a group younger than their soccer age? A: No. This is not allowed by South Texas Youth Soccer Association (STYSA) rules. Age Verification Q: Why do you need to verify my child’s age? A: STYSA rules do not allow us to roster any child on a team until their age is verified. Q: What are acceptable forms of age verification? A: A certified birth certificate or passport can be accepted as age verification. Hospital birth certificates or any other document not issued by a government agency cannot be accepted. There are no exceptions. A: You can submit a photocopy of your child’s certified birth certificate by mail. Once we verify their age, we will shred the photocopy of the birth certificate. Q: If my child has registered previously with Lake Jackson Soccer Club, do you need to verify their age? A: No, if they have registered previously, we do not have to re-verify. All players new to Lake Jackson Soccer Club must have their age verified. Fees Q: What will it cost for my child to play? A: Go to the FORMS page and download the 2008 Registration Fees & Calendar document Payment Q: What forms of payment are accepted for registration? A: Credit cards (online registration only), checks, money orders and cash. Q: If I am registering online, do I have to pay with a credit card? A: Yes Q: Who do I make my check out to? A: Lake Jackson Soccer Club. Q: Are there any additional fees for paying by credit card? A: If you register online and pay by credit card, you will be charged a transaction fee of $2/player plus 2.7% of the registration amount. This fee goes to the credit card company, not the Lake Jackson Soccer Club. Refunds Q: After registering, my child cannot or does not want to play. Can I get a refund? A: Refunds must be requested in writing, postmarked by August 1, 2008 and mailed to Lake Jackson Soccer Club; Attention: Refund Request; PO Box 715; Lake Jackson, TX 77566. After processing the refund, you will receive a check by mail. Uniforms Q: Do I need to buy a uniform? A: U6 players receive a soccer shirt that serves as their uniform as part of their registration Fee. When registering, please indicate the shirt size. If no size is marked, you will receive a Child Medium. U7 to U10 recreational teams must wear a blue Lake Jackson uniform. Players can continue to use this uniform from season to season without buying a new one. If you need to buy a uniform, indicate the shirt and shorts size on the registration and pay the $29 uniform fee. Team formation and season Q: When will teams be formed? A: Teams for U7 and older will be formed in early August and you will hear from a coach shortly thereafter. Teams for U6 will be formed the first week of September and you will hear from a coach shortly thereafter. Q: When does the season start and end? A: The season starts in September and ends before Thanksgiving.
